Smith Rock Hike to Monkey Face

We have been in Bend now for a month and the weather has been some what of a disappointment with a record amount of rain and not much snow. However, after several weeks of hit and miss sunny days, Trevor and I were finally able to get out for our first hike at Smith Rock. I have to say I was a little intimidated at first thinking we may have to do a little rock climbing since that is what the rock is known for, but once we got there I was relieved to see we would be on trail through the whole hike. Not that I wouldn't love to rock climb...it has just been a while since I have had any sort of exercise that would prepare me for a climb up the face of a rock. The trail we decided to hike was called Misery trail which ended up being everything but. The trail was a little hard and steep but the views were so worth it!! It is by far the most amazing scenery I have scene thus far. The weather was perfect, just the right temp and party cloudy.

The rock formations were spectacular.

Just in case...
Stealing a kiss from Monkey Face. It's hard to believe people can actually get their fingers and toes to grip in those little crevases up the side of that rock.

Meet Our Family

Trevor and I have been married for about 7 years now and it seems like time continues to fly by. In 2008, we were blessed with a beautiful baby girl named Peyton, then in 2010 had our second baby girl named Gwen. They have been such a joy.

For the past few years Trevor has enjoyed working as a recruiter for Wells Fargo while I have given up my career as a CMA and XRAY Technician to stay at home with the girls.

We have finally been able to move to Bend and are loving every minute of it. The country has always been where we wanted to live and is a great place to raise kids.
