We have been absolutely LOVING our date weekends. They are cheap, fun, and very special. Lucky for us we have Trev's parent's and my Grandma Harp to share the kidlet duties while we are away, so it has been stress free and very relaxing! Trev and I both share the love of outdoors as you can probably tell from our other date trips. So this weekend was no exception to spend most of our time outside enjoying the weather... and central Oregon offers plenty of that. We had reserved a cabin at Clear Lake back in the winter a year ago and loved it!! This was our 3rd trip back and was everything we remembered it to be. Since we were visiting in the summer this time we planned to do a lot of hiking. We first visited one of our favorite small town restaurants in Sisters then walked around the town. We had some ice cream and poked around another favorite shop of ours were we purchased a beautiful painting of broken top mountain. LOVE IT!! I think we may have to start a tradition of picking one up each time we visit ;-). We headed back to our cabin to rest and relax before our hike the next day. We had planned to do the 5 miles around the lake but decided to head to the Pacific Crest Trail instead. Can i say AMAZING!! The weather was gorgeous the trees were beautiful and it was just breath taking. It was nice to just take God's creation in and enjoy the piece and quiet. We really don't get that opportunity very often with 2 kids. Unfortunately the trail was snowed in a mile or so up so we had to turn back....wish we had our snow shoes because it would have been an amazing trek...NEXT TIME!! The weekend ended to quickly but we do have next month to look forward to. Now we just have to plan it!
