Pray for French Fries

CUDDLE TIME

HER LAST PLASPHERESIS WITH MIKE

(Sigh) What a wonderful day today was. It is amazing what our Father in Heaven can do when we take the time to ask. A few days ago Peyton was sedated with a breathing tube and today she is sitting up, talking, and playing. Her skin has gone from a pale yellow to a beautiful shade of rosey pink, she is moving her extremities more and her coordination is improving, and she giggled!!!! She had her oxygen pressure turned down so she can continue to learn how to breath on her own again, her stomach tube was clamped as well. This will enable us to know if she can keep fluids down. Tomorrow we will try clear fluids and Popsicles. If she keeps those down for 24 hours we will move on to a bland diet (crackers, broth, bananas, bread). Then french fries!!! All day today all she wanted were french fries. Bless her heart! Though she is becoming more alert and happy, she is still pretty irritable from all the tubes and cords around her. We will hopefully be removing some of those tomorrow! Her labs are looking wonderful...her red cells, hemoglobin, and hematocrit are up, and her white blood cells are down!! The LDH number is now at 288..NORMAL!! YAY!! We will be doing a chest XRAY tomorrow to check her lungs. She is still pretty congested from the breathing tube though her swelling and breathing have gotten much better. We are hoping the XRAY will give us good news...no more fluid! We spent most of our day today playing with the magnadoodle and having cuddle time. It felt so wonderful to hold her in my arms again. She also got cuddle time with her Great Grandma Harp and Grandma Billie. We sang a few of her favorite songs and read a book together. She was pretty groggy through most of the day but perked up when daddy arrived this afternoon. (He went into work for a few hours). I am so relieved to see she is doing better. The doctors are impressed with her recovery process. The plasmapheresis is one of the main reasons she is doing so well. They say when she can eat and keep it down, we can go home. We are hopeful she will be coming home by early next week so keep the prayers coming and thank you again for all your support. Oh and dont forget to pray for french fries.

What great news! She has been in our prayers and thoughts every day! Everson asks me if Peyton is still in the hospital and when she will get to sleep in her own bed. It is cute that he has questions about her just randomly through the day. He will be happy to see her in nursery again. Hopefully she will be ready to get a big Everson bear hug!
